Check out this opinion piece from the Washington Post. It's by Charles Krauthammer. Haha! Krauthammer sounds like the name of a German God of cabbage warfare.

Ideology seeks political affiliation
I used to be a supporter of the Republican party. It meshed well with my faith and my personal ideology that influences my decisions and behavior. Now I'm a citizen without a political affiliation. I was never totally on board with all of the Republican decisions, but lately I'm so dismayed by the complete lack of foresight, or hindsught for that matter, that I just don't know what to do. About 65% of the American people polled didn't want a corporate bailout plan enacted and 85% of the calls to Congressional offices were from constituents adamantly against the bailout. Yet the plan was enacted. Why? Politicians we sent to Washington went directly against our wishes. They knew better. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in a democratic nation, doesn't the will of the people supersede the will of the ruling elite? McCain actually said recently that its sometimes necessary for a leader to go against the will of the people to do what's right. THAT'S NOT HOW DEMOCRACY WORKS! *Sigh* We decide what is right. This kind of stuff makes me want to buy a gun and prepare for the revolution. Which by the way is why we have the 2nd amendment in the first place. I'll probably still vote for the guy simply because a vote for the Libertarian candidate is a vote for Obama. Now is definitely not the time to revoke a vote to persuade the Republican party to come back to it's conservative roots. The Libertarian stance on abortion is too wibbly-wobbly for me anyway. I'm too tired to continue writing. Later...
